The Falmouth Retirement Board unanimously voted to approve a Cost-of-Living Adjustment for FY 2025.  Effective July 1, 2024, a 3% Cost-of-Living Adjustment will be applied up to the first $16,000.00 of an eligible recipient’s annual retirement allowance.  The maximum amount an eligible recipient can receive is $40.00 per month.  Eligible recipients will be those who retired or began survivor benefits on or before June 30, 2023.  Eligible recipients will see this Cost-of-Living Adjustment with their direct deposit on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

The Falmouth Retirement Board has conducted a public application process for the position of Fifth Member to the Falmouth Retirement Board.  As of the application deadline, by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, there was only one applicant – the incumbent, Ellen K. Philbin.  Therefore, at its regular monthly board meeting held on May 16, 2024 with all four board members present, the Falmouth Retirement Board unanimously voted to re-appoint Ms.

It is hereby determined that Craig B O’Malley was the only candidate nominated for the position as the Second Elected Member to be elected to the Falmouth Retirement Board.  Therefore, at the meeting of the Falmouth Retirement Board which was held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, the board members voted to declare elected the Second Elected Member to the Falmouth Retirement Board and that no election shall be held.  His term will commence on May 26, 2023 and run through the date of expiration on May 25, 2026.  He will serve on the Falmouth Retirement Board in all respects as thou

At the request of the Falmouth Retirement Board, the Falmouth Town Meeting, with a quorum being present on Monday, April 10, 2023, voted unanimously to increase from $14,000.00 per year to $16,000.00 per year the maximum base amount upon which the annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for a retiree is calculated.  Said increase is to be effective on July 1, 2023.  The maximum amount an eligible recipient can receive is $40.00 per month.  Eligible recipients will see the increase to their cost-of-living adjustment with their direct deposit on July 31, 2023.
